Forklift Training Course Contents


The Aim of the Course is to: Provide the candidate with the knowledge and various practical skills involved in operating the Counterbalance Forklift.
The Objectives of the Course is to enable delegates to: Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufactures instructions and accepted good practice.Carry out a pre-shift inspection.Be able to load and unload vehicles and loads from static racking.Understand the causes of instability of the truck and loads.Have an understanding of responsibilities under Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
Who should attend the Course?  All personnel required operating a Counterbalance Truck.  
Course Summary  

Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercise, all of which are highlighted by the use of OHP & Videos covering:
-Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
-Work Equipment Regulations 2007
-Other Current Regulations
-Introduction to the Machine
-Pre-shift inspectionsControls and instruments
-Components and main types of lift trucks
-Re-fuelling systems
-Coolant, fuel lubrication
-Emergency controls
-Driving on/off ramps
-Battery Charging (if applicable)
-Operators Safety Code
-Handling Loaded / unloaded pallets and difficult shaped loads
Course Duration:  1,2 or 4 days depending on the experience of the candidate, the number of candidates and the ratio of candidates 4 / 1 machines per instructor.
