Course Aim:
The aim of this Manual Handling Training Course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to lift and move loads in accordance with good manual handling techniques and to avoid risk of injury.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course the participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles of load assessment
- Understand the limitations of the spine and muscular system
- Lift and handle loads safely
Course Content:
- Introduction, Health and Safety Legislation, and Injury profile
- Workplace Hazards, Risks of Injury and Exposure Controls
- Body Mechanics, Normal Movement and Dangerous Movement
- Anatomy of Spine, Structure and Functions
- Safe Manual Handling, Eight Principles of Safe Lifting, Theory and Practice
- Injury Prevention, Exercise, Diet, Rest, Sleep and Sensitive risk groups
Assessment / Certification
The course will consist of both theoretical and Practical exam
Successful candidate will be issued a certificate upon successful conclusion of the course.
